PowerTel's Electrical Transmission and Distribution history over the last forty years has enabled the Company to provide expertise at the Utility and Customer interfaces.  PowerTel has negotiated, designed and constructed over 20 direct customer Grid Connections and has implemented over 20 others.

Transmission Line design and construction at voltages from 69 kV to 345 kV is PowerTel’s specialty.  The number of utilities, power producers, mines, wood industry and other industrial plants, remote and First Nations communities that are operating because of PowerTel’s involvement is numerous and significant.  PowerTel has been instrumental in the ability for so many to be connected to transmission grid systems and operating.

The geographic area served is Eastern Canada and the Northeast U.S. That Geographic area is still growing. The demand for PowerTel services has produced calls from the west coast, other areas of the U.S. and even as far as South America and the Caribbean. The amount of transmission line work planned in Canada and the U.S. over the next two decades has PowerTel positioned well to serve that demand.

PowerTel was instrumental in the development of the first every First Nations Transmitter in Ontario. Five Nations Energy Inc. operates the 138 kV Transmission System installed by PowerTel from Moosonee to Attawapiskat serving the communities along the Western James Bay Coast. That same system now supports the DeBeers Victor Mine some 100 km west of Attawapiskat energizing the substation installed by PowerTel.

PowerTel’s Customer base includes Provincial, Municipal and Private Utilities, Public and Private power producers, Remote and First Nations communities, Mining companies and the Forestry sector. Two customers that utilize PowerTel’s services extensively are Brookfield Renewable Power in Sault Ste. Marie and Greater Sudbury Hydro Plus Inc.

The off-road PowerTraxx fleet PowerTel has is second to none in North America. PowerTel has the equipment to do the job and this equipment is in high demand.
