PowerTel Achieves Silver Award Level At E&USA

PowerTel Utilities Contractors Limited of Whitefish, Ontario was presented with the Bronze Award by the Electrical and Utilities Safety Association of Ontario (E&USA) at the E&USA Annual General Meeting on May 29, 2006.

E&USA established a new awards system that has four levels; Bronze (commitment to safety), Silver (Effort), Gold (Outcomes), and Platinum (Sustainability).

PowerTel is currently working towards the E&USA Silver Award. PowerTel is a member of the CEO H & S Leadership Chapter. PowerTel has been a member of E&USA since 1971. PowerTel representatives served on the E&USA board of Direcors for thirty years.  Clary Gatien from 1971-1987 with two tems as president and Wayne Gatien from 1988-2001 with one term as president.  A representative from PowerTel has been involved with the PLMSC since it began in 1979.

E&USA was established in 1915, E&USA is the oldest of the province's Safe Workplace Associations (SWA), serving clients in the generation; oil, power and water distribution; power, line clearing and telecommunications lines contracting; and communications industries.
