Adnane Rakib, MBA – President

Adnane was welcomed to PowerTel in 2016. He has managed a number of major infrastructure projects, including many large high voltage installations. His understanding of schedule and cost line up perfectly with PowerTel’s main objectives – to deliver quality projects, on time and under budget.

Chris Upham, CA, CFA – Chief Financial Officer

Chris joined the Company as Chief Financial Officer in January 2014 and leads PowerTel in terms of financial reporting, treasury, tax, accounting, and budgeting activities. Prior to joining PowerTel, Chris gained over five years of experience with Emera Inc, holding increasingly senior roles in Commercial Investments and Treasury and four years of public accounting experience at Deloitte & Touche LLP in Halifax. Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 2006, and became a CFA charter holder in 2008.

John MacKinnon, MBA – Vice President, Business Development

John is an experienced Business Development Manager and leads PowerTel interaction with new and existing clients. John joined the firm full time in 2014. Previous experience includes:
  • Corporate and Business Development roles at Emera 2007-2013
  • Management Consultant at Deloitte 2000-2007
John holds a Master of Business Administration from Queen’s University and Bachelor degrees from St. Francis Xavier University and Dalhousie University.

Chris Krueger – Vice President, Project Development

Chris is responsible for all client pricing and project budgets including tender/RFP submittals. Chris joined the firm full time in 1989, working in a variety of roles in purchasing and estimating.In 2001, he became Secretary Treasurer and Director of Business Development Chris is President of the Electrical Contractors Association of Northern Ontario and is a Board Member of the Electrical Contractors Association of Ontario.

Lloyd Reid – Vice President, Human Resources & Corporate Relations

Lloyd has held multiple roles in the energy sector in transmission & distribution, power generation, oil & gas, asset integration, operations management and maintenance management. This experience has taken Lloyd from coast to coast in Canada, across the United States and throughout the international community. Lloyd obtained a Masters Certificate in Project Management from York University, Paramedic from Memorial University and Certifications in both Emergency Preparedness and Emergency Operations from Arnprior, Emergency Preparedness College.
